“Is there no such thing as good ‘pop music’ anymore” is a question I ask myself daily. It appears that Bebe Rexha has heard my call, and she has delivered exactly what I was asking for with the release of her new single ‘Heart Wants What it Wants’.
Whether you know her from her collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, or her recent Billboard #1 single “I’m Good (Blue)” (with David Guetta), there is one thing you cannot deny and that is unmistakable legacy that Bebe has contributed to the music industry in the nine years since her debut.
“Heart Wants What It Wants” is no exception to that legacy. In the track, we have all of the makings of a ‘good‘ pop song that brings me back straight to the noughties! The track delivers Bebe’s sultry vocals, over an infectious dance beat, and features stunning (rather relatable) lyrics. The track is taken from her as-yet-untitled third studio album that is set to include collborations with Snoop Dogg and Dolly Parton.
While we wait for that album, lets take to the streets screaming, “Don’t you know you’re just a game to me?” or just do it in your car, it doesn’t matter, just do it!
