Blueburst has released a new fast-paced single, “Supernova.” The track comes after Blueburst received critical acclaim for their debut single, “Vanish.” “Supernova” is a progressive-rock-inspired track. Offbeat time signatures and whimsical percussion breaks are performed by Michael Jerome Moore (Better Than Ezra, Richard Thompson), the percussionist featured in this record.

Blueburst has an unapologetically retro post-punk sound

Blueburst
Blueburst is the collaboration between guitarist/vocalist Craig Douglas Miller (The Reach), and legendary guitarist Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, Noctorum, MOAT). Craig Douglas Miller makes his musical return after a 20+ year break with the creation of Blueburst. When planning his return he reached out to one of his musical idols, Marty Wilson-Piper. Together they created this latest project.

Blueburst is a mixture of lush, guitar-based alternative rock and 80s alternative and post-punk. But, the sound is modern and fresh. “Supernova” is the perfect introduction to new fans of this genre.

“We wanted to make something that would be a breath of fresh air for alternative fans who miss the more raw, honest sounds of the albums we all grew up with,” says Miller. “And based on the early response, that’s resonating with our audience.”

“Supernova” is the story of realizing how short life is and making sure to live your best life. Craig Douglas Miller experienced this himself. Which is when he started Blueburst.

“After turning 50, I decided it was time to quit stalling and get on with it, damn the torpedoes,” said Miller. “That’s what this song is about. We only get one shot at life, and you’ve got to make the most of things while you can.”

I highly recommend that you check out “Supernova” and immerse yourself in the type of music that I grew up with. You won’t be disappointed.
