Camens has released its second single of 2023. “On the Walk from the Picturehouse” is the follow-up to “Jacket Weather” which was released in February. That single has amassed over 48,000 Spotify streams and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. With major radio support from stations like; Amazing Radio UK, Amazing Radio US, XS Manchester, and BBC Introducing. The track was playlisted by all 3, earning ‘Record of the Week’ from the latter.

“On The Walk From The Picturehouse” is the story of leaping before knowing.

Camens songwriter Scott creates worlds for each song. “I love the idea of creating worlds with words and then trying to pick the listener up and take them there.” He used the same approach for “On The Walk From The Picturehouse.”

“The song plays around with the idea that seeing someone you like and then taking them out can be similar in many ways to seeing a trailer before you watch a movie” Camens explain. “In both situations, it’s not until you take the plunge that you’ll know if you both “click”, or if the film is all you hoped it would be.”

While the songwriting stands out, Camens takes it one step further with true indie-rock. From the bass lines to the incredible percussion, without the vocals, this song would be in your head all day long. Without a doubt, it would be amazing to see Camens perform live.

CamensCamens Summer of 2023

Camens is already prepping to have a busy summer filled with gigs, tours, and festivals. The band has secured a spot at Your City Festival alongside, Cassia and Calva Louise. As well as, Deva Fest on the main stage with Feeder and Starsailor. This is all after last year’s tour and supporting Florida’s indie darlings Black Kids and indie pop legends Scouting For Girls.

These Stoke-On-Trent natives are thriving in the UK Indie scene. As an American, fingers crossed they can make it over here for a few gigs! Check out “On The Walk From The Picturehouse” which is available now on all streaming platforms.
