Demi Lovato is still putting their defenses up on “Heart Attack”

Demi LovatoI really really like Demi Lovato; I think they’re an incredible vocalist and one of my favorite “Disney” stars from that golden era. They are taking the Taylor Swift route and essentially released “Heart Attack” (Demi’s Version). One thing can be said about the track and artist, the vocals are absolutely insane.

We are in a time where the industry is so desperate for cash that they are finding ways to re-release solidified hits. We have all seen the *Artist Name* **Old Single (Sped Up)** and while it can be fun to hear a remake from the actual artist, it screams “what is the point?” Like, did TikTok really create such mainstream interest that this needed to happen? Or are you just pushing out as much content as possible for as little investment as possible?

“Heart Attack” is the perfect pop song. The bridge is one that, in my opinion, should go down in history as one of the best of all time (lol, but kinda serious). Demi’s ability to carry a song and create an energy that not only moves her audience but garners her critical acclaim is not up for discussion… but… this did not really do it for me. I mean, I can’t lie and say “I don’t like it” because, like I said above, the song is pop perfection. But does it stand-up as a pop/rock track? Kinda. The energies do not align. The lyrical content belongs on the bubble-gum meets EDM sound that was so perfectly 2010.

With all of that said, I did give this version 6 and that’s only because you can’t compete with perfection. There is no clear motive, ie Taylor wanting full ownership of her works, so what is the point? Will there be a video? Is this to fund a different project? Who knows, but what I do know is if you love Demi, you’ll probably “like” this.
