Follow Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds
Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds have released their latest single, “In My Head,” and it’s been stuck in ours since we heard it. The track has an 80s nostalgia with a modern vocal, paired together they make for a great synth indie rock track.
The artists’ inspiration behind the track comes from feeling like music has taken a direction that is “ironic” and full of “self-aware sarcasm”; to combat that they have released the throwback track “In My Head.” The Calgary based group have taken those classic sounds from the popularly-sourced decade and give it a twist that will make it digestible for all generations.
Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds have already began making quite the name for themselves. They have worked with legendary drummers Kenny Aronoff, Bob Seger and Willie Nelson. Their new wave of rock is the perfect mesh of modern and classic. Beyond their studio success, they have performed throughout the US, including Atlanta and Nashville.
She’s got a hold on me
In my head, in my head, in my head
Everyone can relate to a song about love; it’s universal. We’ve all been in the situation where you are obsessed with someone who has left such an impression and you’re essentially struggling to get their attention. I enjoy the approach, there are a lot of songs that have this vibe, but this one stands out with its musicianship and dedication to creating a sound that they can live in comfortably.
If you are ever in the market for some easy, classic sounding music, be sure to add this track to your playlist.
