Madonna Celebration Tour

Living legend Madonna has unexpectedly postponed her “Celebration” tour which was set to begin in Canada on July 15th.

In an Instagram post, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary explains:

On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to several days in the ICU.

Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows”

Madonna is a record-breaking, world-renowned singer, songwriter, and actress, has had an illustrious career spanning several decades, and she has embarked on numerous successful concert tours throughout her career

The Celebration Tour, which is her 12th arena tour, was scheduled to begin on July 15th with a setlist that spanned all four decades of Madge’s legendary career. The arena tour was set to feature all of her greatest hits and some hidden gems from her discography. With 84 scheduled shows, it is understandable that Madonna will need to be in tip-top shape as she performs for her fans from around the world! (Fun fact, following the announcement of the tour, hotels in London quickly booked up for the dates she is expected to headline the city’s ‘The O2 Arena’)

The 64-year-old artist, who is known for breaking the mold of pop music, recently released a duet with Sam Smith titled ‘Vulgar’ which follows the same vein as his previous duet ‘Unholy’ with Kim Petras. Though, unlike Unholy, the track only managed to peak at #69 on the UK Singles Chart, and failed to chart within the United States.

Stay tuned for the rescheduled Madonna tour dates, and from everyone here at Ear Worms, get well soon Madonna.
